Ibrahim Abdul Razzag Haleem is currently the chief executive officer of Maldives Ports Limited (MPL) and a member of the company’s board. Haleem was appointed as CEO of MPL on 1st March, bringing experience in executive management to his role in the company.
Haleem graduated from the School of Public Policy and Management at Korea Development Institute, earning his Master’s Degree in Development Policy. He also holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Mathematics and Computer Science from City Garden College in India.
Prior to his appointment as CEO of MPL, Haleem was the Managing Director of Maldives Roads Development Corporation Limited (MRDC), a post he held from June 2016 to March 2017.
Haleem spearheaded the resurgence of MRDC, transforming the company to a profit making corporation. According to the financial statement of MRDC, the company recorded a loss of around MVR 54 million in 2015. However, with the effective changes and reforms of Haleem, the company recorded a profit of almost MVR 11 million in 2016.
Before joining MRDC, Haleem was the CEO of Maldives Transport and Contracting Company (MTCC). In the three year tenure of Haleem as CEO of MTCC, the company saw significant increase in revenues and profits.
Haleem also served in senior posts at the President’s Office, including the post of Director General of the Economic and Youth Department /Corporate Development Secretariat and as the Director General for Evaluation and Research of the Policy Office.
Apart from his corporate and executive management experience, Haleem has participated in several seminars, trainings and workshops. He was also a key member of program and events of team of the 17th SAARC Summit held in Addu City in 2011.
