Julian Smith is PwC’s Global Transport & Logistics sector leader (since 2014), and also a director of PT PricewaterhouseCoopers Indonesia Advisory, specialising in financial and commercial advice on Capital Projects & Infrastructure.
Julian is an experienced international corporate and infrastructure finance partner and has specialised in the transport sector for most of his career. He joined PwC UK from university in 1986 and trained as a Chartered Accountant, before moving to Corporate Finance in 1994 where he started his CF career on the privatisation of British Rail. He has worked on transactions and strategy assignments in many other countries including port privatisations in Sweden and Jamaica, bus privatisation in Jordan, railway project finance in Russia and Africa and transport strategy in USA and Ukraine.
In London he was leader of PwC’s transport sector corporate finance/PPP team and relationship partner for the UK Department for Transport, where he advised on two major rolling stock PPPs (Intercity Express and Thameslink), before he moved to Moscow in January 2011 to be CEE Capital Projects & Infrastructure Leader.
His current focus is advice on PPPs, feasibility studies and strategy for Indonesian government and private sector clients.
