Mr. Dedden has more than 35 years of professional experience of which more than 20 years in the ports business. He graduated from Delft University of Technology in Civil Engineering in 1983. Before joining the Port of Rotterdam in 1997 he worked with a number of consultancy firms in the field of hydraulics, offshore and civil engineering.
Within the Port of Rotterdam, Mr. Dedden fulfilled several functions, including some at senior management level. He started in 1997 as project manager port development.
From 2003 to 2006 he has as Executive Technical manager been responsible for all technical aspects of the development and operational phase of the Port of Sohar in Oman (greenfield project). From 2007 to 2013 he was as Director of Infrastructure responsible for the execution of Port of Rotterdam’s infrastructure project portfolio.
In 2013 Mr. Dedden joined Port of Rotterdam’s International department (Porint), as senior project manager responsible for Port of Rotterdam’s projects portfolio in Asia and Australia. His responsibilities include feasibility studies, (boardroom) consultancy, project development, project management, business development, strategic and operational advice, review of plans (related to ports, industrial areas, supply chains, spatial development), setting up strategic cooperation’s and setting up port management JV’s. Relevant disciplines include technical, financial, economic, environmental, HSE, operational, contractual.
In 2016 he moved to Jakarta to set up Port of Rotterdam’s local branch in Indonesia, PT Pelabuhan Rotterdam Indonesia, and lead Port of Rotterdam’s activities in the SE Asia region. Activities include, next to port management consultancy activities, pursuing port development projects in Indonesia (a.o. Kuala Tanjung, Jakarta Port) and SE Asia.
